“Today the Supreme Court ruled that President Obama broke his pledge of the law not increasing taxes and that there does not seem to be a limit to what the federal government can force us to do. Although I am stunned by the nature of the ruling, it in no way prevents Congress from repealing and replacing the law in the future.

Rep Tim Walberg voted on two pieces of legislation this week aimed at providing economic regulatory relief.
H.R. 4078, the Red Tape Reduction and Small Business Job Creation Act, freezes costly new regulations until national unemployment drops to six-percent or lower, gives small businesses the ability to intervene before government agencies agree to binding legal settlements that require them to issue more onerous regulation and increases transparency for federal agencies that have been operating beyond the purview of regulatory review.
Rep Walberg introduced legislation this week to help lower taxes and bring more certainty for individuals and small business owners.
Specifically, H.R. 6225 would make tax cuts permanent, eliminate the death tax, index the capital gains tax for inflation, and include an alternative minimum tax (AMT) patch for 2012.
Rep Walberg released the following statement following the bill’s introduction:
Today, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform examined the extravagant bonuses given to top executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The hearing entitled, “Pay for Performance: Should Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Executives Be Receiving Millions in Bonuses?” questioned Fannie and Freddie’s CEO’s concerning this issue.
