Walberg Supports Head Start Funding for Children in Need

October 8, 2013

Washington, D.C. - Today Rep Walberg voted to provide immediate funding for the Head Start program. The legislation passed with bipartisan support by a vote of 248 - 168 and is now before the Senate for further consideration.

"I was pleased to again see bipartisan support for another important House-passed government funding bill. Many children and families depend on Head Start and it's important that we continue to provide these services. As the House continues their ongoing efforts to open the government and protect taxpayers, it's time for the president and Senate Democrats to step up and negotiate so we can reach an agreement to fund the entire government, and provide relief to the American people," said Rep Walberg following the vote.
