Walberg Supports Funding for Veterans, the National Guard and Reservists
Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep Walberg voted to provide immediate funding for Veterans and our military reserve components. Both pieces of legislation passed with bipartisan support and come after the House passed earlier measures this week to fund the National Institutes of Health, the National Park Service, and the DC government, in addition to four continuing resolutions to keep the government open and a request calling for a combined House and Senate negotiating committee.
"Caring for those who have served and continue to serve should be one of the highest priorities of the federal government and I proudly supported these two bills to fund our veterans, National Guardsmen and Reservists. As the House continues their efforts to open the government and protect taxpayers, it's time for the president and Senate Democrats to come to the negotiating table so we can reach an agreement to fund the entire government and help the American people,' said Rep Walberg following the votes.
