Rep Walberg Fights for NIH Funding & Open National Parks
Washington, D.C. - Today Rep Walberg voted to provide immediate funding for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Park Service. Both pieces of legislation passed with bipartisan support.
"Both the National Institutes of Health and the national parks need these funds to provide the services that many people rely and depend on. President Obama and Congressional Democrats are already on record for supporting past piecemeal approaches to keep parts of the government open, so it's only fair that they continue to work with us to advance other important measures such as cancer trials and allowing American families access to our natural treasures. I will continue my efforts to open the government, protect taxpayers, and ask the Senate to join us at the negotiating table so we can reach an agreement to help the American people," said Rep Walberg following the vote.
