H.R. 750, Defending America's Affordable Energy and Jobs Act, reached a legislative milestone yesterday and picked up its 100^th cosponsor. The legislation would prevent the EPA from regulating greenhouse gases without Congressional approval and stop Washington bureaucrats from implementing a cap-and-trade program that will drive up energy prices on families and businesses. H.R. 750 has been endorsed by a host of public policy organizations and taxpayer groups, and is a companion bill to Senator Barrasso’s (R-WY) S.228.

Today, Rep Tim Walberg voted in favor of H.R. 6213, the No More Solyndras Act. The legislation would phase out the Department of Energy's mismanaged loan guarantee program and provide added taxpayer protections to existing applications. Solyndra was a California-based solar panel manufacturer that went bankrupt after receiving a $535 million loan guarantee from the Department of Energy under the 2009 stimulus law.

Rep Tim Walberg released the following statement on the 225^th Anniversary of the signing of the Constitution:

"For 225 years the Constitution has been this country's bedrock. Our founding fathers wrote it not only to address the issues of their day, but with the clear intent that it was to be used to address foreseen and unforeseen issues in the future. I believe we must continue to honor and celebrate the Constitution's principles of federalism, commitment to freedom and protection of individual liberties."

Today Rep Tim Walberg voted in favor or H.J. Res 118, a joint resolution he co-sponsored, that will block the Obama Administration's July 2012 decision to allow states to seek a waiver from the work requirements central to the success of 1996 welfare reform law.

Today Rep Tim Walberg voted in favor of H.R. 3409, a legislative package designed to stop costly regulations which threaten jobs and affordable electricity.

Rep Tim Walberg presented Private First Class Frank P. Durkee's family with a posthumous Purple Heart and World War I Victory Medal this week at the Onsted American Legion Post. He was killed in action 94 years ago while serving with the American Expeditionary Forces in France.

Rep. Tim Walberg introduced two bills to ensure seniors and individuals with disabilities have access to affordable companion care by preventing the Department of Labor from placing costly regulations on families and job creators.
