Rep Walberg is encouraging high school students from the 7th district to enter the 2012 Congressional Artwork Competition. Each district chooses a winner whose art will be displayed for an entire year in the Cannon Tunnel to the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.

In addition, the winner will be provided with two roundtrip airline tickets to attend the official ribbon cutting ceremony and reception in the Capitol. After the winner has been chosen, all other submitted artwork will be displayed in the Jackson District Office for constituents to enjoy.

Today, U.S. Rep Tim Walberg voted in favor of H.R. 3606, the Jumpstart our Business Startups (JOBS) Act, a package of six bills designed to help small businesses access capital, eliminate government barriers to job creation and revive our economy. The JOBS Act received strong bipartisan support. H.R. 3606 passed 390-23.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the people affected by last night’s storm. While I am thankful to report there are no serious injuries at this time, my heart goes out to those whose homes were damaged or destroyed. I’ve been in contact with the governor’s office and plan on visiting the affected community today. My office stands ready to assist state and local teams with any recovery efforts,” commented Congressman Walberg.
