Each year, millions of men, women and children as young as 12 years old are trafficked around the world and even here in the U.S. Because combatting this issue is so important to me I recently held a human trafficking forum with local officials to discuss what we're doing to end these heinous crimes, and by the sheer number of you who attended can tell it's important to you too. Human trafficking is no longer an issue that happens in foreign countries; it's in our backyard and must be addressed.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Walberg voted in favor of H.R. 4457, America's Small Business Tax Relief Act. H.R. 4457 will help small businesses improve their cash flow, lower costs, and grow their companies by making expensing levels outlined in section 179 of the tax code permanent. H.R. 4810 would allow veterans to utilize non-VA healthcare providers if the enrolled veteran resides more than 40 miles from a VA medical facility, has waited longer than the wait time goals for a medical appointment, or has been notified by VA that an appointment is not available within the wait-time goals.

JACKSON, MI—U.S. Rep. Tim Walberg is making strides in naming Jackson's U.S. Post Office after officer James Bonneau, who was shot and killed on duty in 2010.
This is the congressman's second attempt at renaming the post office after the former city of Jackson police officer. On Thursday, May 22, a resolution passed the Oversight and Government Reform Committee and the bill now is headed for the House floor.

Times are good now for the clinic which has seen more patients through Medicaid expansion, but a lack of residencies in Michigan has some administrators concerned about tomorrow.
