Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Walberg voted in favor of H.R. 5078, the Waters of the United States Regulatory Overreach Protection Act. H.R. 5078 upholds the successful federal-state partnership in place for 40 years and would prevent the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Army Corps of Engineers from expanding federal regulations to nearly all bodies of water without Congressional approval. The bill passed with bipartisan support by a vote of 262 -152.
Imagine you are driving down the highway on your way to buy a car. Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Walberg voted for H.R. 5230 to provide funding to address our current crisis along the Southwest border. Specifically, H.R. 5230 will increase security along the border, address the needs of federal agencies to enforce immigration and customs laws, provide care for the thousands of unaccompanied children and families, and deliver tools to prevent further crises. H.R. 5230 is fully offset through cuts and rescissions of existing federal funds. It passed by a vote of 223-189.

Washington, D.C. - Today, Rep. Tim Walberg introduced H.R. 5212, the Civil Asset Forfeiture Reform Act, which seeks to restore personal property rights under the Fifth Amendment and ensure due process of law by reforming long-standing civil forfeiture policy. Under current law, agencies like the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Department of Justice (DOJ) may take property suspected to be in connection with a crime without charging, let alone convicting, the property owner of a crime.
Washington, D.C. – Rep. Walberg voted for a pair of bills to help ease the tax burden on families and allow them to better plan for their children's future. H.R. 4935, the Child Tax Credit Improvement Act, would simplify the child tax credit and make it available to more families. H.R. 3393, the Student and Family Tax Simplification Act, would make it easier for families to plan and save for their child's education.
