Two of Congressman Tim Walberg's bills passed out of the Energy & Commerce Committee: Choice in Automobile Retail Sales (CARS) Act and Proper Leadership to Align Networks (PLAN) for Broadband Act.

The letter urges the Administration to investigate and limit the operations of autonomous vehicles made by Chinese companies in the U.S., as a matter of national security and competitiveness. 

Included in the legislation was an amendment authored by Rep. Walberg to identify workforce shortages that can be addressed in our military to increase preparedness. 

The PLAN for Broadband Act is based upon a Government Accountability Office report that found federal broadband efforts are fragmented and overlapping.

CARS Act would stop this executive overreach by preventing the implementation of regulations that seek to limit consumer choice, instead allowing consumers to choose the vehicle that best meets their needs.

The Association Health Plans Act will expand health care options and lower costs for small businesses through association health plans, which would allow greater bargaining power and bulk rate purchases

The letter further requests the Department of Justice to determine whether Chew committed perjury by falsely asserting that TikTok did not store any American user data in China.

The FAIR Act was cited by members on both sides of the aisle and by witness Kirby West as a solution to close civil asset forfeiture loopholes and defend due process.
