Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) voted today for H.R. 2029, the FY2016 Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Bill, to ensure our military has the infrastructure they need, boost funding for veterans programs, and to make the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) more accountable. H.R. 2029 also includes a Walberg-sponsored amendment to boost veterans' job training and services to help them transition into the civilian sector.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tim Walberg's (MI-07) bipartisan legislation to dramatically reform our nation's civil asset forfeiture laws to protect against unlawful seizures has been backed by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) and Americans for Tax Reform (ATR). The Fifth Amendment Integrity Restoration Act (FAIR Act) was introduced on January 27 in both the House and Senate by Congressman Walberg and Senator Rand Paul.

Washington, D.C.—Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) introduced the Flexibility to Farm Act today to protect farmers from EPA overreach and restore common sense to farm regulations. H.R. 1993 would allow individual states to opt-out of regulations stemming from the Clear Air Act and Clean Water Act if the state's governor finds them to be excessively burdensome to the farming community. The legislation is supported by farmers across the 7th District and also the Michigan Farm Bureau.

Washington, D.C. – Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), Congressman Tim Walberg (R-MI), and the lead bipartisan cosponsors of the Fifth Amendment Integrity Restoration Act (FAIR Act) sent a letter to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Ranking Member Patrick Leahy (D-VT) to thank them for holding today's hearing on civil asset forfeiture abuse and ask the Committee to embrace the principles contained in the FAIR Act.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) responded today to Attorney General Eric Holder's announcement that the Department of Justice (DOJ) will restrict the government's ability to use federal structuring statute to seize property without a criminal charge. On January 27, Walberg and Senator Rand Paul introduced the Fifth Amendment Integrity Restoration (FAIR) Act, the most comprehensive forfeiture reform bill introduced since the Civil Asset Forfeiture Reform Act of 2000.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) voted today for a budget proposal that will help create jobs and grow a healthy economy, strengthen our national defense capabilities, save taxpayers $5.5 trillion, and balances in less than 10 years without raising taxes. The budget passed by a 228 - 199 margin and marks the fifth consecutive year the House has passed a responsible balanced budget.

Jackson, MI – Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) is seeking submissions from high school students in the 7th District for this year's annual Congressional Art Competition. The winning piece of art will be displayed in the Cannon Tunnel to the U.S. Capitol, along with the winners from the other congressional districts across the country.
