Washington, D.C. – Following reports that surgeries have resumed at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System, Representatives Debbie Dingell (MI-12) and Tim Walberg (MI-07) are seeking assurances that the surgeries are not being conducted in unsafe conditions. In November, Dingell wrote to Director Robert P. McDivitt following reports that surgeries for veterans had been canceled or moved to another facility because particulate matter was observed on sterile surgical equipment.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) voted today for the Visa Waiver Program Improvement and Terrorist Travel Prevention Act, bipartisan legislation to help prevent foreign terrorists from entering the United States. The bill, which passed by an overwhelming 407-19 margin, addresses security shortcomings within the Visa Waiver Program, increases intelligence sharing between participating countries, and prohibits individuals who have traveled to terrorist hotspots in the last five years from using this expedited travel program.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) voted today for the Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act, a bipartisan agreement between the House and Senate to reauthorize and reform America's highway and public transportation systems. The FAST Act, which passed the House by a 359-65 margin, is a five-year plan that does not raise taxes on hardworking families.

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Tim Walberg (R-Mich.) and U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) today introduced legislation in the House and Senate to ensure seniors and individuals with disabilities have access to affordable in-home companion care. H.R. 3860, the Ensuring Access to Affordable and Quality Home Care for Seniors and People with Disabilities Act, would reverse harmful Department of Labor rules that place costly regulations on families and caregivers.
