It's a humbling experience to once again bring the voice and values of Michigan's 7th District to the halls of Congress.

As 2016 draws to a close, and we look expectantly to the New Year, I'd like to thank you for the opportunity to continue to serve Michigan's 7th District and pause to reflect on the previous 12 months. In the past year, we hosted more than 40 coffee hours and townhall meetings in every corner of the district to listen to the people's priorities.

Jackson, Mich. – Congressman Tim Walberg's (MI-07) bipartisan legislation to ensure living Medal of Honor recipients receive timely access to their health benefits was signed into law by President Obama this past weekend. The Medal of Honor Priority Care Act was included as part of a larger bill to enhance care and resources for veterans, the Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act.

Two members of Congress wrote to the U.S. Department of Veteran's Affairs on Monday demanding answers about why the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit has fallen to a one-star facility out of five stars based on an internal rating by the VA.
