That's how the Chief of Police from Columbia, Missouri, once described civil asset forfeiture, the process by which law enforcement can seize the personal property — whether cash, cars or personal computers — from Americans with little to no evidence the property was involved in criminal activity.
WASHINGTON, D.C. - 60 post World War II veterans traveled to Washington Tuesday to see the memorial made for their service. It's called an Honor Flight. This free trip to Washington, D.C. is entering its 10th year in Michigan.
Jerome Walters was able to visit the memorial with his granddaughter, Emily, who is currently serving. She says she has been inspired by her grandfather's service and believes we all have a duty to our country.
"These students have shown incredible dedication and work ethic to receive an appointment to our nation's top military academies. I congratulate them on this prestigious achievement and I'm confident they will continue to make their families and communities proud in service of our country," said Walberg.

Jackson, MI—Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) will be holding a Job Fair in Jackson on Tuesday, June 9 to help connect job seekers with employment opportunities. Employers from across Michigan's 7th District will be on hand to accept resumes and talk about available job openings. More than 30 local employers are already scheduled to attend, with more expected to confirm their participation in the coming days.
"Creating long-term job growth in Michigan is my top priority in Congress and I hope this Job Fair will assist people in finding work," said Walberg.
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) released the following statement after voting for the bipartisan Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act, which boosts resources for victims and strengthens law enforcement tools for prosecuting human trafficking. The legislation passed the Senate by a vote of 99-0 on April 22 and now heads to President Obama's desk.
