U.S. Rep. Tim Walberg issued a statement this morning on the killing of 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden.

“I am satisfied that justice was accomplished by the death of Osama bin Laden at the hands of American forces. The terrorism bin Laden and his al-Qaeda associates perpetrated against the American people on 9/11 was pure evil. Justice is not always as quick as we wish, but it is certain.

U.S. Rep. Tim Walberg, R-Tipton, voted in favor of the deal that prevented a partial federal government shutdown.

Working late into Friday night, congressional and White House negotiators finally agreed on a planto pay for government operations through the end of September while trimming $38.5 billion in spending.

A payroll tax cut agreement must not add too much to the national debt and budget deficit if he’s going to vote for it, U.S. Rep. Tim Walberg said.

Walberg, R-Tipton, told the Citizen Patriot on Wednesday afternoon that he still hasn’t decided if he’ll vote for the measure when it goes before the House — possibly on Friday.

Rep Walberg is encouraging high school students from the 7th district to enter the 2012 Congressional Artwork Competition. Each district chooses a winner whose art will be displayed for an entire year in the Cannon Tunnel to the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.

In addition, the winner will be provided with two roundtrip airline tickets to attend the official ribbon cutting ceremony and reception in the Capitol. After the winner has been chosen, all other submitted artwork will be displayed in the Jackson District Office for constituents to enjoy.

Today, U.S. Rep Tim Walberg voted in favor of H.R. 3606, the Jumpstart our Business Startups (JOBS) Act, a package of six bills designed to help small businesses access capital, eliminate government barriers to job creation and revive our economy. The JOBS Act received strong bipartisan support. H.R. 3606 passed 390-23.
