Rep Walberg Comments On 3rd Anniversary of Failed Stimulus
Today marks the third anniversary of President Obama’s $1.2 trillion stimulus bill.
In response to the anniversary Rep Tim Walberg released the following statement:
“Three years ago today President Obama’s failed stimulus was signed into law, but still has not created the jobs promised. The President said if the bill was passed, unemployment would be at 6 percent today. Instead, it’s remained above 8 percent for 36 consecutive months and according the Bureau of Labor Statistics there have been 1.1 million net jobs lost since the stimulus was approved. It’s also added $5 trillion to our deficit, a debt which will be left to our children and grandchildren to pay off. However, it doesn’t have to be this way. To get America working again, I believe we must remove the threats of out-of-control spending, new taxation and excessive regulation so the private sector can create jobs again. It’s time for the President and Senate to stop blocking our bipartisan jobs bills.”
