High School Students in 7th District Invited To Enter Congressional Art Competition

Rep Walberg is encouraging high school students from the 7th district to enter the 2012 Congressional Artwork Competition. Each district chooses a winner whose art will be displayed for an entire year in the Cannon Tunnel to the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.

In addition, the winner will be provided with two roundtrip airline tickets to attend the official ribbon cutting ceremony and reception in the Capitol. After the winner has been chosen, all other submitted artwork will be displayed in the Jackson District Office for constituents to enjoy.

All entries must meet the following criteria

· Be two dimensional

· Unframed at time of entry

· Be no larger than 24 inches wide by 24 inches tall (unframed) by 4 inches thick

· Weigh less than 15 pounds (framed)

· Be original in concept, design, and execution and may not violate any U.S. copyright laws

The artwork can be submitted in person or by mail to the Jackson District Office, 800 W. Ganson St., Jackson, MI 49202 by May 1, 2012.
