JACKSON, Mich (WLNS) – Congressman Tim Walberg will be in Jackson this morning for his 6th annual job fair from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

51 local employers will be there ready to meet people looking for jobs.

The job fair will take place at the Commonwealth Commerce Center.

No registration is required but you should bring some resumes and dress to impress.

In an effort to help ease the pain for veterans working through endless mazes of red tape, on Friday Congressman Tim Walberg hosted a Veterans Claims Fair. The event provided "one stop shopping" that allowed veterans to visit several agencies at one location.

The U.S. Department of Transportation has approved American Airlines' petition to the Federal Aviation Administration for an exemption to bring back a round-trip flight between Lansing and Washington, D.C.

The announcement comes five months after Sun Country Airlines stopped offering the service.

Uber, Lyft and Air B&B are all self contracted jobs, and they are growing in popularity, but this new policy could be the end of these new start up businesses.

More than 70 years later, U.S. Marine Corps veteran Lyman Cory still remembers seeing the American flag raised on Mount Suribachi during the World War II Battle of Iwo Jima.
Wounded in that battle, Cory recalled that time again Friday when he was presented with his own American flag.

Standing before an audience of mostly family, he had to pause, trying to control inevitable emotion, as he recalled a soldier he knew only as Able.

Able took a fatal shot in the neck as he moved to support Lyman Cory, a young private in the U.S. Marines fighting in his first battle, Iwo Jima, during World War II.
