Congressman Walberg is leading a bipartisan push urging President Biden to send Michigan more vaccines.

Five members of the Michigan delegation of the U.S. House of Representatives, including U.S. Rep. Tim Walberg, R-Tipton, who represents Jackson, signed a similar letter.

Bipartisan legislation is being voted on as early as Monday to open VA’s up to any veteran who wants the vaccine.

“The hotspots are not the same, nor is the education that many students are receiving online,” said Walberg at the markup.

A new year, and a new semester for Jackson County schools, is on the horizon. Let’s prioritize our students and teachers and make it possible for a safe return to the classroom.

For the sake of our children and their educational and emotional wellbeing, we need to resume in-person learning. Adding teachers to the COVID-19 vaccine priority list, along with frontline workers and other vulnerable groups, will help make it a reality.
