Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) voted today for the FY16 Department of Defense Appropriations Act which funds critical national security needs, military operations to combat ISIS and other threats, and a 2.3% pay raise and other health and safety programs for our troops and their families. The legislation also included two amendments offered by Walberg to help ensure an appropriate use of American taxpayer dollars in Afghanistan and to protect hospitals that administer TRICARE from government overreach.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - 60 post World War II veterans traveled to Washington Tuesday to see the memorial made for their service. It's called an Honor Flight. This free trip to Washington, D.C. is entering its 10th year in Michigan.

Jerome Walters was able to visit the memorial with his granddaughter, Emily, who is currently serving. She says she has been inspired by her grandfather's service and believes we all have a duty to our country.

Jackson, MI—Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) will be holding a Job Fair in Jackson on Tuesday, June 9 to help connect job seekers with employment opportunities. Employers from across Michigan's 7th District will be on hand to accept resumes and talk about available job openings. More than 30 local employers are already scheduled to attend, with more expected to confirm their participation in the coming days.

"Creating long-term job growth in Michigan is my top priority in Congress and I hope this Job Fair will assist people in finding work," said Walberg.
