JACKSON, MI – U.S. Rep. Tim Walberg introduced a House Resolution that would honor a Jackson police officer who died on duty in 2010.
Walberg, R-Tipton, has proposed the United States Post Office downtown Jackson, be designated as the "Officer James Bonneau Memorial Post Office."
"The Jackson community witnessed Officer James Bonneau's bravery and selflessness in 2010 when he gave his life in the line of duty," Walberg said in a statement. "It's a fitting tribute to ensure his sacrifice is remembered in our community."
President Obama has frequently promised that if you like your health-care plan, you can keep it. But ask the more than 3.5 million Americans who have lost their health insurance in the last six weeks alone just how true that pledge is.

Tim Walberg introduced H.R. 3493, the Servicemembers Transition Improvement Act, which would assist members of the Armed Forces transitioning into civilian life by requiring the Department of Defense to provide the contact information for separating service members to state veterans affairs departments. H.R. 3493 is a companion bill to legislation recently introduced by Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA).
HILLSDALE — Governmental officials from around the state took time out Monday to remember those who are serving and those who have served in our nation's armed forces.
State Representative Ken Kurtz and State Senator Bruce Caswell spent part of the day in Hillsdale as they took part in the Hillsdale County Veterans Day ceremony at the Hillsdale County Courthouse. Congressman Tim Walberg also took part.
The ceremony featured Ken Benge, veterans affairs director for Hillsdale County.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — This week Rep. Walberg met with Sean Hilbert, president of Cobra Motorcycle in Hillsdale, to honor him for Cobra's 20 years of manufacturing and consistently delivering the most successful line of competition mini-motocross bikes in the country.
Designed and produced in Hillsdale, Cobra bikes were recently ridden to victory by three youth national champions at the 2013 Red Bull Amateur National Motocross Championship in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. Riders have driven these bikes to more than 300 titles.
