U.S. Rep. Tim Walberg joined his colleagues in Congress in an effort to block a measure that would allow federal, state and local governments to withhold 3 percent of payments to contractors for goods and services.
Opponents of the withholding rule, which is scheduled to take effect in 2013, said it would put financial stress on businesses and hinder job creation. The U.S. House voted 405-16 in favor of repealing itlast week.

U.S. Rep. Tim Walberg issued a statement this morning on the killing of 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden.
“I am satisfied that justice was accomplished by the death of Osama bin Laden at the hands of American forces. The terrorism bin Laden and his al-Qaeda associates perpetrated against the American people on 9/11 was pure evil. Justice is not always as quick as we wish, but it is certain.

A payroll tax cut agreement must not add too much to the national debt and budget deficit if he’s going to vote for it, U.S. Rep. Tim Walberg said.
Walberg, R-Tipton, told the Citizen Patriot on Wednesday afternoon that he still hasn’t decided if he’ll vote for the measure when it goes before the House — possibly on Friday.

Today marks the two-year anniversary of President Obama’s health care bill being signed into law. Rep Tim Walberg released the following statement in response to the event:
U.S. Congressman Tim Walberg voted in favor of the fiscal year 2013 Budget to cut government spending and protect taxpayer dollars. The budget will restore fiscal responsibility to the federal government, strengthen Medicare and repeal the President’s burdensome health care law. The bill passed 228 by 191.
Rep Tim Walberg voted in favor of H.R. 9, the Small Business Tax Cut Act, to help small businesses to grow and hire new workers. H.R. 9 provides companies with fewer than 500 employers with a one-year tax deduction equal to 20% of their active business income, regardless of how the business is organized. The bill passed by a vote of 235 -173-1.
