Rep Walberg Votes For Small Business Tax Cut

January 25, 2013

Rep Tim Walberg voted in favor of H.R. 9, the Small Business Tax Cut Act, to help small businesses to grow and hire new workers. H.R. 9 provides companies with fewer than 500 employers with a one-year tax deduction equal to 20% of their active business income, regardless of how the business is organized. The bill passed by a vote of 235 -173-1.

“Michigan has been hit hard with double-digit unemployment rates over the past three years. The Small Business Tax Cut Act provides an immediate opportunity to businesses to expand their operations and add jobs to their communities. Congress must continue working towards making the existing complicated tax code simpler and fairer to help provide certainty, job creation and economic growth,” commented Congressman Tim Walberg following the vote.
