Rep Walberg Votes For 2013 Budget
U.S. Congressman Tim Walberg voted in favor of the fiscal year 2013 Budget to cut government spending and protect taxpayer dollars. The budget will restore fiscal responsibility to the federal government, strengthen Medicare and repeal the President’s burdensome health care law. The bill passed 228 by 191.
“For over 1,000 days the Democrats who control the Senate have refused to pass a budget. The President at least had the courtesy to propose a budget that increases taxes by nearly $2 trillion, adds $11 trillion to the debt and puts government spending at $47 trillion over the next decade. We voted on the President’s proposal and not a single Democrat or Republican would support it, failing 0-414.
Families and businesses are required to pass and work within a budget. It’s time their government did the same. I remain committed to tackling our nation’s debt and putting our country back on sound financial footing and hope the Senate will follow our lead and pass a budget to bring accountability and transparency back to Washington,” commented Congressman Tim Walberg following the vote.
