Walberg voted in favor of H.R. 10, the Success and Opportunity through Quality Charter Schools Act,to promote state efforts to develop and expand charter schools while supporting choice, innovation and excellence in education. The bill passed by a bipartisan vote of 360 to 45.
Washington, D.C. – Today Rep. Walberg voted in favor of H.R. 4438, the American Research and Competitiveness Act, to provide businesses with a permanent research and development tax credit. The R&D tax credit has been renewed 14 times since 1981.
Washington, D.C. – Eight of the various students Rep. Walberg nominated to U.S. military academies received appointments recently to attend one of the schools including West Point, the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy or the U.S. Naval Academy.
Washington, D.C. – Today Rep Walberg voted for H.R. 4486, the fiscal year 2015 Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Bill to provide funding for our nation's military infrastructure, boost veterans programs and make government work better for our nations veterans. The bill passed with a bipartisan vote of 416 to 1.
Washington, D.C. – Today Rep. Walberg voted in favor of the fiscal year 2015 Budget to bring balance to our federal budget in 10 years, reduce spending by $5.1 trillion, foster a healthy economy and create jobs. The House passed the Budget by a vote of 219 - 205 and marks the fourth consecutive year House Republicans have passed a responsible budget. In contrast, the Senate has chosen to not produce a budget this year, having only offered one budget in the last five years.
Washington, D.C. – Today the House passed H.R. 2575, the Save American Workers (SAW) Act, legislation introduced by Representatives Todd Young (IN), Tim Walberg (MI), Pete Olson (TX) and Mike Kelly (PA) to repeal the 30-hour definition of "full-time employment" under the Affordable Care Act and replace it with the traditional 40-hour definition. The legislation passed with bipartisan support by a vote of 249 to 179.
Washington, D.C. – Today Rep. Walberg voted in favor of H.R. 4138, the ENFORCE the Law Act, to rein in executive overreach by putting a procedure in place permitting the House, or the Senate, to authorize a lawsuit against the Executive Branch for failure to faithfully execute the laws.
Washington, D.C. – Today Rep. Walberg voted in favor of H.R. 4118, the SIMPLE Fairness Act, to eliminate the individual mandate penalty tax for a year under the President's health care law. H.R. 4118 passed with bipartisan support by a vote of 250-160.
Washington, D.C. – Today the House passed H.R. 4076, the Home Heating Emergency Assistance Through Transportation (HHEATT) Act.
H.R 4076 will make it easier to transport propane and fuel to areas in need by increasing truck drivers' hours, alleviating the shortages that are contributing to rising household heating costs.
