Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Congressman Tim Walberg (R-MI), U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA), and U.S. Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) introduced bicameral legislation to prevent a surge in costly federal regulations as a United States President's term comes to a close. The Midnight Rule Relief Act would protect hard working families and small businesses from significant regulations that are often politically motivated and imposed between Election Day and Inauguration Day.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tim Walberg's bipartisan legislation, the Medal of Honor Priority Care Act, passed the House today along with a series of bills to support America's veterans and their families. The Medal of Honor Priority Care Act would place Medal of Honor recipients in the highest priority group used by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to determine eligibility for health care services. Currently, they are allocated to Priority Group 3 in the VA's priority scale.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) voted today for the Iran Terror Finance Transparency Act, bipartisan legislation that strengthens congressional oversight of U.S. sanctions against Iran and prohibits the Obama administration from lifting sanctions on individuals or banks until certifying they are not involved in terror financing, human rights abuse, or the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) and Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) today announced that the River Raisin National Battlefield Park was awarded a $21,000 grant from the National Park Service (NPS). Administered as part of the NPS's Centennial Challenge program to improve visitor services and outreach, this new grant will help the River Raisin National Battlefield Park conduct a hands-on maritime camp for students from underrepresented communities.

Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, President Obama signed into law Congressman Tim Walberg's (MI-07) bipartisan bill to increase government accountability and reduce wasteful spending. The Grants Oversight and New Efficiency (GONE) Act, introduced along with Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence (MI-14) in the House, requires federal agencies to take action to identify thousands of expired grant accounts with a zero balance that should be closed out.
