One Big, Beautiful Win for Americans

On Thursday, the House passed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which delivers for working class Americans and small businesses. I spoke on the House floor in favor of the One Big, Beautiful Bill, which would extend the Trump tax cuts to prevent historic tax increases on small businesses and working-class families. The average taxpayer in Michigan's 5th District would face a 27% tax hike, if these vital provisions were to expire at the end of the year. The One Big, Beautiful Bill also delivers up to a $11,700 increase in yearly take-home pay for a typical family of four in Michigan.

  • Extending and expanding the Child Tax Credit
  • Bolstering our military capabilities and national security
  • Building more efficient and effective government programs
  • Empowering small businesses
  • Revitalizing our manufacturing base
  • Supporting domestic energy production

As Chairman of the Education and Workforce Committee, my portion of the bill would save taxpayers over $250 billion by fixing our student loan repayment system and ending uncapped lending.

This historic legislation, which was signed into law by President Trump on Independence Day, will help usher in a new golden age of prosperity in America.

Students, families, and small businesses rely on internet connectivity each day, and we can’t allow rural areas to get left behind. I have introduced the Brownfields Broadband Deployment Act to help accelerate broadband deployment and close the digital divide. This legislation would remove unnecessary barriers to building broadband projects on a brownfield site so that we can promote new wireless transmission infrastructure including towers, antennas, or other support structures and buildings.

Happy Independence Day!

For 249 years, America has been a beacon of freedom and opportunity thanks to those who founded and served our country. As we celebrate Independence Day at lakes, picnics, parades, barbecues, and firework shows, we come together as a nation to remind ourselves how blessed we are to live in the land of the free because of the brave. Happy Independence Day!

The 2025 Congressional App Challenge is now underway! I would like to extend an invitation to all middle and high school students in Michigan's 5th District to create and submit an original app for a chance to win. It’s a wonderful opportunity for students to explore and enhance their computer science skills.

All apps must be submitted by October 30th. For more information, please visit walberg.house.gov or https://www.congressionalappchallenge.us/. I look forward to seeing the creativity and ingenuity displayed by Michigan's 5th District!
