Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Walberg voted in favor of the Conference Report to H.R.3080, the Water Resources Reform and Development Act (WWRDA), to authorize ports and waterway infrastructure projects. The Conference Report passed the House by a bipartisan vote of 412-4.
H.R. 3080 initially passed the House in October 2013 with Rep Walberg's support by a vote of 417 to 3. Both the House and Senate must approve the Conference Report in order for the President to sign it into law.
WASHINGTON, DC — Rep. Tim Walberg has been named as a recipient of the 2014 Thomas Jefferson Award by the International Foodservice Distributors Association (IFDA).
Congressman Tim Walberg recently announced that three local students he nominated to U.S. military academies had received appointments.
"It's an honor for me to nominate these bright and service-oriented young men and women and congratulate them on their appointments. I'm confident in their ability to continue making us proud as they join our nation's finest and I wish them all the best in their immediate and future endeavors," said Walberg.
The following students received an appointment to attend a U.S. Military Academy:
Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Walberg voted in favor of H.R. 10, the Success and Opportunity through Quality Charter Schools Act,to promote state efforts to develop and expand charter schools while supporting choice, innovation and excellence in education. The bill passed by a bipartisan vote of 360 to 45.
Washington, D.C. – Today Rep. Walberg voted in favor of H.R. 4438, the American Research and Competitiveness Act, to provide businesses with a permanent research and development tax credit. The R&D tax credit has been renewed 14 times since 1981.
JONESVILLE — During a recent tour of his home district, Congressman Tim Walberg (R-Tipton) visited the Nyloncraft plant in Jonesville for a tour and update on progress on the facility.
Walberg met with employees of the plant and other members of the community for more than an hour Monday and was impressed with how things have come along since his last visit two years ago.
"It's always great to see manufacturing facilities that aren't stagnant," Walberg said. "Especially in my district."
A teenager from Jackson is one of several students to be accepted into a U.S. military academy after being nominated by Rep. Tim Walberg.
Forest Isenhour has been accepted to West Point Military Academy and the U.S. Air Force Academy. He now just needs to decide which school to attend. Both of his parents graduated from West Point.
BRONSON — The Branch District Library-Bronson Branch opened its doors Monday for a special visit by Congressman Tim Walberg (R-Tipton).
Walberg held a town hall meeting in the Bronson Township Hall, located in the basement of the library, where he discussed several legislative matters and answered questions from a modestly-sized audience.
Washington, D.C. – Eight of the various students Rep. Walberg nominated to U.S. military academies received appointments recently to attend one of the schools including West Point, the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy or the U.S. Naval Academy.
