Walberg Votes for Conference Report to Grow Jobs and Improve Michigan Infrastructure
Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Walberg voted in favor of the Conference Report to H.R.3080, the Water Resources Reform and Development Act (WWRDA), to authorize ports and waterway infrastructure projects. The Conference Report passed the House by a bipartisan vote of 412-4.
H.R. 3080 initially passed the House in October 2013 with Rep Walberg's support by a vote of 417 to 3. Both the House and Senate must approve the Conference Report in order for the President to sign it into law.
"This is a significant piece of legislation for both growing jobs in our area and protecting the Great Lakes, as it authorizes needed investment in our ports and helps put them on a path that ensures they are properly funded. The investments made in this bill will expedite infrastructure projects important to manufacturers and farmers in Michigan, while strengthening our transportation network and keeping American competitive in a fiscally responsible manner,"said Rep Walberg following the vote.
