Rep Walberg Votes to Support Access to Quality Charter Schools
Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Walberg voted in favor of H.R. 10, the Success and Opportunity through Quality Charter Schools Act,to promote state efforts to develop and expand charter schools while supporting choice, innovation and excellence in education. The bill passed by a bipartisan vote of 360 to 45.
"Hundreds of thousands of students are waiting across the nation to get into charter schools, often because they lack choice or their current schools, public or private, are failing them. Families should have more choice and children deserve more opportunities to succeed. I am pleased to support this commonsense legislation which will support state efforts to expand the number of high-quality charter schools, prepare more students to compete for jobs and increase education opportunities for all students," said Rep. Walberg following the vote.
