Washington, D.C.—Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) today voted for bipartisan legislation to strengthen and reform our nation's mental health system. The Helping Families in Mental Health Crisis Act, the most significant mental health care overhaul in decades, would enhance evidence-based treatment, expand the mental health workforce, help reach underserved and rural populations, reform guidelines for grant programs, and remove barriers to care.

The Lenawee County Conservation District has been awarded a $200,000 grant to reduce phosphorus and sediment in the River Raisin Watershed that stretches through several counties and empties into Lake Erie.

The grant is one of two organizations in Michigan's 7th District that have been awarded a total of nearly $400,000 in Great Lakes Restoration Initiative grants by the Great Lakes Commission, said U. S. Rep. Tim Walberg, R-Tipton.

A federal grant will help farmers in portions of southern Lenawee County buy equipment to keep sediment and phosphorus from their fields out of the River Raisin.

The $200,000 federal grant to the Lenawee Conservation District was announced Tuesday by 7th District U.S. Rep. Tim Walberg, R-Tipton. He also announced a $199,998 grant to the Hillsdale Conservation District for a related program to reduce phosphorus and sediment entering the Tiffin River and Lake Erie.

Jackson, MI—Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) today announced that two organizations in Michigan's 7th District have been awarded a total of nearly $400,000 in Great Lakes Restoration Initiative grants by the Great Lakes Commission. The Hillsdale Conservation District was awarded $199,998 for a project to reduce phosphorus and sediment in the Tiffin River and the Western Lake Erie basin, and the Lenawee Conservation District was awarded $200,000 to reduce phosphorus and sediment in River Raisin watershed.

Jackson, MI—Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) today announced that Carter Gough, who just completed his sophomore year at Grand Ledge High School, is the winner of the 2016 Congressional Art competition for Michigan's 7th District. Carter received first place for his stippling ink drawing entitled "Salvador Dali," a portrait of artist Salvador Dali.
