House Takes Action to Combat Radical Islamic Terrorism

June 16, 2016
Press Release
Washington, D.C.—Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) released the following statement today after voting for the Countering Terrorist Radicalization Act, a package of three bipartisan bills to strengthen our nation's counterterrorism capacity and keep the American people safe.
"The victim's loved ones and the people of Orlando continue to be on the forefront of our nation's prayers during this time of immense grief and mourning. The attack in Orlando is a tragic reminder that ISIS and radical Islamic terrorists will stop at nothing to slaughter innocent people and destroy our way of life. Today the House took initial steps to strengthen our intelligence and counterterrorism capabilities to combat radicalization and protect our citizens and our homeland. In the face of wide-ranging national security challenges, we must speak with clarity about the threats we face and stand united to defeat radical Islamic terrorism at home and abroad," said Walberg.
The Countering Terrorist Radicalization Act includes the following three bipartisan bills:
H.R. 4401, the Amplifying Local Efforts to Root out Terror Act
H.R. 4820, the Combating Terrorist Recruitment Act
H.R. 4407, the Counterterrorism Advisory Board Act
