A local veteran is walking 60 days and 1,000 miles to bring attention to servicemen suffering from PTSD.

Marty Wills began his journey in the Spring Lake Memorial Day parade and plans to travel to Camp Lajuene, North Carolina. He is currently 350 miles away from his goal in Maryland, walking alone with just a 50-pound pack and American Flag.

Wills entered military service in 1989 and retired in 2013, serving in the Navy as a Corpsman and in the Army as a combat medic. He does not suffer from PTSD, however he keeps in touch with veterans who do.
