Tim Walberg introduced H.R. 3493, the Servicemembers Transition Improvement Act, which would assist members of the Armed Forces transitioning into civilian life by requiring the Department of Defense to provide the contact information for separating service members to state veterans affairs departments. HILLSDALE — Governmental officials from around the state took time out Monday to remember those who are serving and those who have served in our nation's armed forces.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — This week Rep. Walberg met with Sean Hilbert, president of Cobra Motorcycle in Hillsdale, to honor him for Cobra's 20 years of manufacturing and consistently delivering the most successful line of competition mini-motocross bikes in the country.
During a recent visit to Walter Reed National Medical Center, I met 24-year-old Sgt. Christopher Hemwall from Monroe as he underwent rehabilitation. In March 2011, he was shot three times in an ambush while serving in Afghanistan's Kandahar Province.
Eventually, Sgt. Hemwall's right leg had to be amputated below the knee after an experimental treatment failed.

And dozens of community members showed up to express their frustrations.

Delayed because of the government shutdown, September's jobs report disappointed as our economy added just 148,000 jobs, fewer than the previous month's and slower than the average pace of growth within the last year.
