Walberg Votes to Strengthen Michigan’s Economy and Water Infrastructure

September 13, 2018

Washington, D.C.—Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) today joined his colleagues in supporting the America's Water Infrastructure Act by a unanimous vote. This bipartisan agreement between the House and Senate provides improvements and support for ports, locks, ecosystem restoration, the Harbor Maintenance Trust Fund, and other waterway infrastructure projects important to Michigan.

"Modernizing Michigan's water infrastructure is critical for our prosperity and way of life," said Walberg. "This bipartisan legislation will expedite infrastructure projects and strengthen harbors and ports throughout our state—like the Port of Monroe—which are important drivers of job creation and economic growth. I'm pleased the House and Senate came to this agreement that will directly benefit the Great Lakes economy in so many ways."

Congressman Walberg serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the House Education and the Workforce Committee as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions. For more information on Walberg's work in Congress visit walberg.house.gov.
