Walberg Votes for Pediatric Research
December 11, 2013
Washington, D.C. Today, Rep Walberg voted in favor of H.R. 2019, the Kids First Research Act, which provides targeted and coordinated pediatric research funding through the National Institutes of Health while terminating taxpayer funding for political party nominating conventions.
"Redirecting money from political conventions to children's research is another example of how Washington should invest hardworking taxpayer dollars more effectively. Pediatric research has made great strides in improving the lives of children, and this much needed boost will help them make even more headway in developing cures for autism, cancer and other diseases. This bipartisan legislation and the research that will come from it gives hope to children and their families," said Rep. Walberg following the vote.
