Walberg Votes to Lower Energy Costs for Michiganders

November 20, 2025

Today, Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-05) voted for two pieces of legislation that passed the House and would unleash domestic energy production and lower energy costs for families. H.R. 1949, the Unlocking Our Domestic LNG Potential Act, would lift restrictions on the import and export of liquified natural gas (LNG). H.R. 3109, the Researching Efficient Federal Improvements for Necessary Energy Refining (REFINER) Act, would require the National Petroleum Council to identify opportunities to increase American refining capacity.

"After years of the Biden administration imposing burdensome regulations and limiting our energy potential, we have started to reverse course," said Rep. Walberg. "By unleashing domestic energy production and strengthening our energy security, these bills will lower costs and provide essential economic relief for hardworking families. I remain committed to working with my colleagues on further efforts to unlock our full energy potential and make life more affordable for Michiganders."

Congressman Walberg currently serves as a member of the Natural Resources Committee and previously served as a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee for four terms.
