Walberg Votes for Infrastructure, Great Lakes Harbors
Washington,D.C.– Today, Rep Walberg voted in favor of H.R.3080, the Water Resources Reform andDevelopment Act (WWRDA), to authorize ports and waterway infrastructureprojects while implementing commonsense reforms that to reduce bureaucracy, andfoster sustained economic growth. WWRDA passed by a bipartisan vote of 417 -3.
"Ournation's waterways are vital to a healthy economy and job creation and thisreauthorization makes necessary reforms to cut red tape and bureaucracy whilepromoting American competitiveness and fiscal responsibility. This bipartisanbill is significant for the Great Lakes region and districts such as Michigan's7th as it works to address the dredging backlog and puts us on apath to properly fund our ports and harbors. I'm glad that my colleagues onboth sides of the aisle could come together and support a bill that rebuildsour infrastructure, saves taxpayer money and creates jobs," said Rep Walbergfollowing the vote.
