Walberg Votes to Improve Health Care for Veterans, Reform VA

May 16, 2018

Washington, D.C.—Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) today voted for the VA MISSION Act, a bipartisan package of three bills to overhaul the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and improve care for our veterans. H.R. 5674 streamlines the VA's duplicative community care programs, extends funding for the Veterans Choice program, expands the Post-9/11 Caregiver Program to all eras, and includes other reforms to strengthen veterans' health care.

"Taking care of our veterans is our sacred obligation as a country," said Congressman Walberg. "The VA Mission Act will reduce red tape at the VA, support caregivers of wounded veterans, and help provide veterans with access to the high quality care they have earned. By passing these bipartisan reforms, we are continuing our work to bring the VA into the 21st century and ensure it is effectively serving our nation's heroes."

Congressman Walberg serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the House Education and the Workforce Committee as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions. For more information on Walberg's work in Congress visit walberg.house.gov.
