Walberg Votes to Extend Important Veterans Programs

December 10, 2013

Washington, D.C. - Today, Rep. Walberg voted for bipartisan legislation that extends authority for the Department of Veterans Affairs to run a number of important programs, including treatment for mentally ill and homeless veterans, housing assistance for homeless veterans, and assistance for disabled veterans to compete in the paralympic programs.

"Our commitment to men and women in the Armed Forces must continue after they return home, and that includes helping them transition back into civilian life. This legislation will ensure that veterans will continue to have opportunities for housing and mental health treatment services, in addition to rehabilitation and stress release through sports and other physical activities. I am proud to support these important programs," said Rep. Walberg following the vote.
