Walberg Votes to Ease Regulatory Burden

January 13, 2015
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tim Walberg released the following statement today after voting for H.R. 185, the Regulatory Accountability Act, bipartisan legislation which requires federal bureaucrats to adopt the least costly method to effectively implement the law. The cost of America's federal regulatory burden amounts to $15,000 a year for each household.

"Excessive regulation by an overreaching federal government stifles economic growth, hurts job creation, and makes America less competitive in the global marketplace. Rolling back burdensome regulations that stand in the way of innovation and growth will deliver meaningful reform for the American people," said Walberg.

Congressman Walberg serves on the House Education and the Workforce Committee as Chair of the Workforce Protections Subcommittee. In addition, he serves on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. For more information on Walberg's work in Congress visit walberg.house.gov.
