Walberg Votes to Combat Human Trafficking and Help Victims
Washington, D.C. - Today, Rep. Walberg voted in support of a legislative package to address the growing problem of human trafficking. The five bipartisan bills passed by the House will grant additional protections, support and assistance to victims of trafficking, while bringing us closer to ending domestic and international trafficking.
"People are trafficked every year around the world, including here in Michigan. These bills implement a robust, new strategy to hold perpetrators and enablers of these crimes accountable, while offering much-needed resources to victims of trafficking. While we still have more work to do to end these heinous crimes, today's votes will help strengthen our federal laws to combat human trafficking and help victims rebuild their lives," commented Rep. Walberg after the vote.
