Walberg Votes for Border Safety and Security Act

October 10, 2013

Washington, D.C. - Today Rep Walberg voted to provide immediate funding for border security programs at the Department of Homeland Security. The legislation passed with bipartisan support by a vote of 249 - 175 and is now before the Senate for further consideration.

"We have a responsibility to secure our borders and ports of entry. Today's passage of legislation to fund border security - along with the 12 individual funding bills the House has already passed - illustrates the bipartisan support in the House to address the important funding issues before us. The President and Senate Democrats need to come to the table and find a negotiated solution with the House to fund the entire government and provide relief to the American people," said Rep Walberg following the vote.
