Walberg Votes to Boost Veterans' Hiring

January 6, 2015
Washington, D.C. -- Congressman Tim Walberg released the following statement today after voting for the Hire More Heroes Act, bipartisan legislation to incentivize small businesses to hire more of our nation's veterans by exempting veterans already covered elsewhere from counting towards the President's health care law employee limit.

"Making it easier for small businesses to hire veterans by providing employers relief from costly Obamacare mandates is a commonsense solution. Instead of worrying about triggering additional penalties, small businesses will have the ability to hire more veterans who deserve our unwavering support at every turn. America's veterans bravely put it all on the line for their country, and increasing employment opportunities upon their return is the least we can do," said Walberg.

Congressman Walberg serves on the House Education and the Workforce Committee as Chair of the Workforce Protections Subcommittee. In addition, he serves on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. For more information on Walberg's work in Congress visit walberg.house.gov.
