Walberg Tours Monroe County Manufacturers for National Manufacturing Day

Monroe, MI—Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) visited manufacturing facilities in Monroe County on Thursday in recognition of National Manufacturing Day. Walberg made stops at Ort Tool & Die, Premier Industries Corporation, and Spartan Steel Coating, where he spoke with workers and students about the importance of apprenticeships and career and technical education.

“On Manufacturing Day, it was a privilege to celebrate our state’s manufacturing sector by visiting a number of local job creators in Monroe County. It is an honor represent such a strong manufacturing district filled with a dedicated workforce that keeps Michigan on the forefront of making high quality products. To boost Michigan manufacturing, it is critical to redouble our efforts to build a talent pipeline to fill in-demand jobs and inspire today’s students to pursue rewarding careers in the fields of manufacturing and technology," said Walberg.
