Walberg Statement on Senate Vote to Acquit President Trump

February 5, 2020

Washington, D.C.—Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) released the following statement after the U.S. Senate concluded the impeachment trial and voted to acquit President Trump.

"This partisan charade is over—finally. No matter how hard Democrats tried to undo the 2016 election, Donald Trump is still President of the United States. We spent the last five months on an outcome everyone predicted from the start. Now that this incredibly divisive chapter in our history has come to an end, our attention should turn to where it should have been all along: lowering prescription drug costs, equipping all students for successful careers, and growing jobs for hardworking Americans."

Congressman Walberg serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the House Education and Labor Committee as Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions. For more information on Walberg's work in Congress visit walberg.house.gov.
