Walberg Statement on Release of Long-Awaited Asian Carp Report
Jackson, Mich.—Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) issued the following statement after the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers released the long-awaited Brandon Road Study, which provides an assessment of how best to prevent Asian carp from entering the Great Lakes.
“After months of delays and calls for action, I am encouraged to see the Army Corps finally release the Brandon Road Study,” said Congressman Walberg. “Now that this report and its recommendations are public, it’s time to take this positive momentum and push forward long-term solutions to stop Asian carp from damaging the Great Lakes. Asian carp pose a profound environmental and economic threat to the Great Lakes, and it’s critical we take immediate action to thwart the spread of this invasive species.”
