Walberg Statement on Keeping the Government Open

Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-05) released the following statement after the House passed the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act.
"While House Democrats tried to orchestrate a government shutdown, which impacts resources for veterans, military families, and assistance program recipients, House Republicans have ushered through a responsible plan to keep the government open," said Rep Walberg. "A clean continuing resolution ensures that a costly government shutdown does not befall the American people and gives Congress time to focus on delivering President Trump's full America First agenda to root out government waste and secure our border. This legislation funds the government through the remainder of the fiscal year and freezes total spending with critical boosts to defense and air traffic control."
Congressman Walberg represents Michigan’s 5th Congressional District which includes the counties of Branch, Cass, Hillsdale, Jackson, Lenawee, Monroe, St. Joseph, and parts of Berrien, Calhoun, and Kalamazoo. For more information on Walberg's work in Congress visit walberg.house.gov.
