Walberg Statement on Efforts to Expand American Energy Production

Today, Congressman Tim Walberg released the following statement on Republican efforts to increase domestic energy exploration and increase jobs.

“Another week has passed and the Obama Administration is still standing in the way of lower gas prices and more American jobs by enacting a near moratorium on additional energy exploration efforts here at home. According to the Obama Administration’s own numbers, the official moratorium, which took place from May until October last year, cost us 12,000 American jobs. No telling how many more are being cost by the current stagnation by the Administration. That’s unacceptable. So my colleagues and I in Congress have passed the American Energy Initiative, a series of bills to remove roadblocks in expanding America’s domestic exploration efforts. I am happy to support this effort to expand energy exploration and increase American jobs,” stated Congressman Walberg.
