Walberg Statement on Coronavirus Cases in Michigan
Washington, D.C.—Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) released the following statement in response to the first confirmed cases of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Michigan.
“I am actively monitoring the real-time developments regarding the Coronavirus and its spread into Michigan. My staff and I have been in regular communication with federal, state, and local health officials and we stand ready to assist. Just last week, Congress passed a bipartisan $8 billion emergency funding package to help ensure agencies on the front lines are well-prepared to combat and contain the Coronavirus. While the immediate health risk remains low, I encourage everyone to take precautions and follow the guidance of public health experts.”
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends everyone take basic preventative steps to limit the spread of the Coronavirus, including washing your hands often, avoiding touching your face, and staying home when you are sick.
