Walberg Highlights Biden’s Energy Crisis and the Need for Immediate Relief

July 22, 2022

As steep gas prices continue to take a toll on family budgets, Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) visited a local gas station in Michigan on Friday to highlight the need for solutions to unleash American energy and provide relief at the pump. The gas station event was organized by Americans for Prosperity-Michigan and featured a price reduction to $2.38 a gallon, the national average when President Biden took office in January 2021.

“I have seen firsthand how Michigan families are having to stretch their budgets to make ends meet because of high gas prices and runaway inflation,” said Walberg. “President Biden’s hostility to American energy has caused gas prices to surge since he entered office, imposing an extra burden on Americans’ wallets. I want to thank Americans for Prosperity for reminding people how the Biden administration’s misguided policies are impacting our communities, and the importance of making life more affordable. As a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, I will continue to advocate for solutions to reverse course, increase domestic production, and put America back on a path to energy independence.”
